History
The United Veterans of America was founded by The Honorable Dr. Barry Allen Krupkin as the original worldwide veteran’s organization in January of 1980. As a veteran himself, Dr. Krupkin saw a great need for a veteran’s organization that would offer membership to veterans and allied veterans of the United States, including their families. Since our inception, the UVOA has grown to over 289,864 members.
Mission
The mission of the UVOA is to ensure that the issues affecting veterans and their families are recognized and addressed. We have been involved in many topics over the years, always striving to ensure the highest quality of care for our veterans.
The following is a list of some topics that we have and continue to be involved in.
- Veterans exposed to toxic war chemicals such as Agent Orange, and radiation.
- POW/MIA programs.
- Treat all veterans fair and equal, not just based upon the V.A. Compensation rating system.
- Higher costs of the national annual budget for increased health care for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, that at present, is 6 billion dollars short of the continued needs of increasing medical and health care costs.
- Higher COLA increases. Veterans are always the last to be considered when it comes to the annual costs of living increase.
- Lobby to support WW-II and Korea Veterans who were promised free health care and yet in many cases were denied, forcing them to make co-payments to the Dept. of V.A.
